My lovely hosts 1 & 1 had already secured the domain for me, and indeed had charged me for it (but my not so great credit card company wasn’t showing the amount in my online statement…)
Panic over. www.snowgoon.co.uk lives on …
It’s amazing what you can achieve when you use that new fangled technology called the telephone. Why I actually SPOKE to someone!! Fascinating!
