“Tagging allows social groups to form around similarities of interests and points of view. If you’re using the same tags as I do, we probably share some deep commonalities”.
An excellent way to say that it doesn’t matter that people tag the same thing in different ways. I still find tagging too much effort though, which is why I loved the Lazy Sheep bookmarklet (no longer being developed) which auto-tagged del.icio.us posts for you.
Just realised that this ‘news’ is probably only being picked up as the new Blogger features tags… maybe.
